Attainment

Pupil attainment is a key priority for Eaglesham Primary School. The school uses its own tracking system as well as East Renfrewshire’s Tracking database to ensure that all pupils are making progress. The school also uses ERC’s Standardised testing of pupils in P3, 5 and 7 to further ensure pupils are on track.

As part of the drive to raise attainment and to ensure that each child’s needs are met, the school organises annual screening meetings in June. At these meetings each child is discussed and appropriate action and next steps are agreed.  These action points are passed on to the child’s new teacher and implementation takes place in the classroom over the school year, during which progress is reviewed and further action agreed In addition to this, pupils in Primary 1, 2 and 4 are involved in a range of assessments using various assessment tools.

Within each curricular area there are 6 levels of attainment:

Level A -should be attainable in the course of P1 – 3 by almost all pupils.

Level B -should be attainable by some pupils in P3 or even earlier, but certainly by most in P4.

Level C -should be attainable in the course of P4 – 6 by most pupils.

Level D -should be attainable by some pupils in P5 – 6 or even earlier, but certainly by most in P7.

Level E -should be attainable by some pupils in P7 – S1, but certainly by most in S2.

Level F - should be attainable in part by some pupils and be completed by a few pupils in the course of P7 – S2.
