Madras Family Centre is a purpose built school, which opened in 1976. Children between the ages of three and school age attend. It is multi-denominational. There are places for eighty morning and eighty afternoon pupils. A number of these children extend their sessions through wraparound care. The nursery serves the villages of Neilston and Uplawmoor. Our associated primary schools are St Thomas' Primary, Neilston Primary and Uplawmoor Primary and we have close association with schools in our Eastwood Cluster Group.
Staffing is in line with Care Standards. There are currently, a Head Teacher, two Depute Head of Centre, two Teachers, one Senior Child Development Officer - 4 Child Development Officers - . All staff are appropriately qualified. There is also a Clerical Assistant, two Support Assistant, and a Janitor/Cleaner.
All staff work together as a very effective team to provide a quality learning experience for the children and support for the families.
