Mearns Castle's Senior Concert Band took part in the Scottish Regional National Concert Band Festival held at the RSAMD on Saturday and came away with the Platinum Award!
The Concert Band, which comprises of 47 pupils playing woodwind, brass and percussion instruments, not forgetting our double bass player, played superbly to pick up the top award for the 5th year running.
The Senior Concert Band have now been invited to take part in the British Final - to be held in Birmingham in the spring of next year. We have won Gold at the British final for the past two years. Lets hope we can make it three in a row.
Well done to all band members and conductor Grace Hamilton for their outstanding achievement!
