Soccer 1 Football Programme

A new programme of football games and coaching starts on Friday 3rd September after school at Mearns Castle for all S1 & S2 boys as well as S1 to S6 girls. All pupils just need to turn up with their kit after school to register.

A new programme of football games and coaching starts on Friday 3rd September after school at Mearns Castle for all S1 & S2 boys as well as S1 to S6 girls. All pupils just need to turn up with their kit after school to register.

The coaching and games will last for 10 weeks and all sessions will be outdoors on the astroturf. Flyers with all the information are available in the PE department or pupils can speak to Mr Cook or Mr Giles

Applying to University This Year

On Monday 30th August and Monday the 6th September, pupils in S6 will be be given presentations on Careers/ UCAS and applying to university. Any pupil in S5 who is serious about applying to university should come along to the Main Theatre on these 2 Mondays, period 3 and also liase with Mrs Crilley immediately about the UCAS Process.

S6 Buddies

All S6 buddies should by now have received the timetable of their S1 buddy along with an appointment card. Use this to check when your buddy is in PSE/Tutor/RE so that you can go and briefly introduce yourself to them this week (when you have a period off), then arrange your first proper appointment for a lunchtime that suits both of you.

Mearns Castle’s Eco Project

Last year we made some fantastic progress towards achieving our Green Flag and this year we are hoping to reach this goal! We will be looking for pupils from all years to get involved and help us reach our target!

If you are interested in being involved please come along to Miss Ferguson’s room on Wednesday 1st September at 12:30 for our first meeting. We will be voting for our Eco Committee the following week so please come along and register your interest in being involved on this committee. As an Eco Committee member you will be playing a very important role in your school

Early Applicants to University

Any students applying to Medicine, Vet medicine, Oxford or Cambridge should see Mrs Crilley in the Pupil Support Base as soon as possible. You will be an early applicant to UCAS. Therefore it is imperative that you come and see Mrs Crilley for early training

S5 Pupils - Applying to University This Year
