Biology Department

Aim of the Biology Department
Biology is the study of living things and how they interact with each other and with their environment. The aim of the Biology Dept is to provide pupils with the opportunity to develop and extend their understanding of a range of Biological Sciences. This allows pupils to progress onto further education or employment.

In addition, studying Biology helps pupils to develop an appreciation of how Biological principles impact on many issues facing individuals and society. This encourages pupils to develop positive attitudes such as being open minded and a willingness to listen to alternative points of view. Pupils will then be more able to make informed decisions on many aspects of life which will directly affect not just their own well being but that of society and the environment.
