Children's Work

Primary 4 wrote these reports on the school grounds.

Our playground is very big and I like the nice grass. We have some buddy benches, but it would be better if we could have some more. We sometimes find some greenflies and ladybirds. I like the pitch because it is good for Sports day.

It would be better if we could have a bigger railway line wall, a climbing frame and a pond so we could catch insects. The bad thing is that we don't have enough picnic benches. I would like it if we could have a swimming pool and a water fountain and a bigger patio. We have an activity trail and fruit trees and it would be good if we could grow some strawberry bushes

I just love our playground.

The playground is good and fun. it has a patio garden, climbing wall, activity trail, pitch, benches, minibeasts and the forest.

There are really good things in the playground. We can play football and sit on the buddy benches and play on the activity trail.

There are some bad things about the playground. I think there is too much litter and the wall where the boys play football is too small.

I think the wall should be bigger. We could make swings to play on and make the climbing wall and garden areas bigger. And finally put an ice rink in the playground!

This is a report to the janitor on the playground of Neilston Primary School. with ideas for improvement and change. our playground is very nice. It has a bird feeder, a wildlife garden, buddy benches, an activity trail, a forest and a pitch.

I like our playground because there is lots of space to play and there is a climbing wall.

I don't like not getting on the activity trail and the pitch though.

Our playground is nice. It has a patio, climbing wall, pitch, activity trail, trees, hopscotch, buddy benches , flowers, wildlife garden and lots of minibeasts. it is fun.

There are good things about the playground. Some of them are football, climbing wall, pitch and activity trail. You can also do gymnastics. I really like it.

There are some bad things too. There is too much litter and the wall is a bit too small.

We could change a few things. We could make the wall a bit taller. we could get some swings, a see-saw and a slide. We could get a bigger lunch area. The P3s and P4s could get a shot on the pitch and more time on the activity trail.

My Life at School by Calum Hughes.

P1 Mrs Allen and Mrs Mullen -In Primary 1 I was shy and the only people I knew were Scott Speirs, Scott Fraser, Jack and Stefan. It was good because we had a ball nearly every day in class. We watched films and played games.

P2 Mrs Brooksbanks and Mrs Colville -It was hard to learn French but then i got used to it and it was much easier. In Maths I got lots of stickers and Art was cool. I liked it and I painted nice pictures. my mum and dad were really pleased.

P3 Mrs walker and Mrs Brooksbank -It was really good fun and we got to learn all about the Egyptians, Cleopatra and Tutankuman. the Egyptians hated their leader and cut off his head. We presented an assembly to the whole school.

P4 Mrs McCarthy and Mrs Finnie.- Our classwork involved learning about Muhammed.  We also learned about Judaism and studied Hebrew writing. It was great fun. We performed an assembly on Wartime.

P5 Mrs Murray and Mrs Crossan -At the beginning of the year we presented and assembly to encourage everyone to recycle more. It is very exciting learning about the Wars of Independence and William Wallace the freedom fighter. We recently took on a maths challenge and one of my classmates was the best performer.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my life story so far.

My UEFA Cup Final Experience by Billy O'Neil

I felt proud when I was walking down the streets of Manchester in 2008. All the stalls selling programmes, scarves, hats and memorabilia were clearly displayed. All the fans around me supported the same team as me. When my dad and I got our seats it was great. The speakers were booming out music, the fans were cheering and the flags were waving. It was AMAZING! The atmosphere around the stadium was GREAT! It was against a team called Zenit St Petersburg.

It was a shame we lost 2-0 but at the end a Zenit fan swapped their scarf with me . It was the best day of my life.

                                         The Magic Egg

One day in Fairy World all the fairies woke up. They all went to the queen's bedroom but they could not find the queen of egg.

"The queen's missing!" said Mary.

They realised that the magic egg was missing too.

" Oh No! I will have to tell Rachel and Sarah".

Mary went into Rachel's room. Mary put magic dust on Rachel and Sarah's faces and it woke them up.

"Hi Mary", said Rachel. What are you doing here?

"The queen of eggs is missing", said Mary.

"Will we go and have a look in Fairy World", said Sarah.

When they went to Fairy World they first looked in the dark wood, then they went to Mermaid Rock but they still could not find the magic egg. The last place they looked was the Princess Meadow. They went into the meadow and found something glowing. It was the magic egg and beside the egg was the queen of eggs.

"There you are", said Mary. We have been looking for you all day. What were you doing with the egg?

"I saw the magic egg hatching and I wanted to put it in the nest of the magic birds", said the queen.

Everyone had a party to celebrate the new bird's birthday.

Please click on the music icon to hear children from our school, St Thomas's Primary and Uplawmoor Primary who play in the Thursday Band. Please note that if the speed of your internet connection is slow then the music will not play very well the first time you try it. If you wait until you have all the music and then press play again the music should play at the correct speed.
