Course Content
Courses in music consist of three 40 hour units:
Performing of performing with Technology
Composing
Listening
A further 40 hours of course time is provided for induction, additional support, consolidation and preparation for course assessment.
The course offers choice by specialism in Performing or Performing with Technology.
Performing
Performance on 2 instruments or on 1 instrument and voice or 1 instrument and accompanying
Performing with Technology
Performance on 1 instrument/voice and MIDI SEQUENCING FOLIO or SOUND ENGINEERING AND PRODUCTION FOLIO.
Composing
Students will have the opportunity to develop their creative use of compositional skills.
Listening
Students will have the opportunity to study a number of musical works prescribed by SQA as well as listening to a wide repertoire of music.
